Methanol also known as wood alcohol, is a colourless, volatile liquid with a distinct odor and the simplest form of alcohol. It’s a valuable solvent in industrial applications, including the production of paints, inks, and coatings. Additionally, it is commonly used as an antifreeze in automotive cooling systems and serves as a clean-burning fuel alternative for vehicles and marine engines in turn helping to reduce emissions and improve air quality.
